If you’re thinking of spending the Fourth of July holiday at the Oregon coast, a new travel ranking might help you decide where to go.

Two Oregon beach towns made the list of the top 50 beachfront spots to celebrate Independence Day.

Bandon, on the southern Oregon coast, is ranked as one of the top 20 beach town destinations for the holiday.

SIXT, a rental car and rideshare company, ranked the best beach towns in the United States for the Fourth of July. SIXT compiled its ranking by looking at travel website Enjoy Travel’s “list of the 50 Best Coastal Towns in the United States to identify popular beach towns in the US and then ranked them by popularity of relevant TikTok videos and amount of Fourth of July activities available.”

Coming in at No. 17, Bandon and its 2.4 million TikTok views were praised for the town’s fireworks display over the Coquille River lighthouse and annual Cardboard Boat Derby.

Cannon Beach was ranked No. 21, and offers a fireworks-free Fourth of July experience for those who prefer a quieter holiday.

The Great Cannon Beach Puffin Watch will also run July 1-4 in Cannon Beach. “Spotting scopes and binoculars will be available for the public to view these magnificent birds up close, along with bird enthusiasts to help you find the tufted puffins and inform you about all of the seabirds nesting on Haystack Rock,” according to a press release from Friends of Haystack Rock.

Elsewhere on the Oregon coast, you can take a train to the Rockaway Beach fireworks show.

Several Pacific Northwest destinations made the SIXT list: Long Beach in Washington, just north of Astoria, was No. 8. The San Juan Islands (technically comprising several beach towns) in Washington state came in at No. 50.
