A Lacey man faces possible prison time after he allegedly threatened a state trooper with racial slurs during his arrest for driving with a suspended license.

Kenshawn Q. Muldrow, 33, is charged with one count each of felony harassment and third-degree driving with a suspended license. He was booked into jail shortly before 1 a.m Friday and made a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court that afternoon.

A judge set bail at $5,000 cash or bond and ordered that Muldrow not drive without a valid license and insurance as part of his release conditions.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a Washington State Patrol trooper pulled Muldrow over near milepost 71 on Interstate 5 after observing Muldrow speeding and driving “aggressively.”

Muldrow reportedly told the officer he had a firearm inside the vehicle. The trooper then discovered Muldrow had a suspended license and arrested him.

According to the affidavit, Muldrow “immediately” began yelling and insulting the trooper with racial slurs. Later, Muldrow allegedly said he would find out where the trooper lived, “due to everything being on the internet.”

Prosecutors also noted in the affidavit that Muldrow allegedly made “repeated sexual remarks” about the trooper and his family, and said the trooper “perceived these remarks to be a threat to cause him or his family great bodily harm,” in part because of the gun found in the vehicle.

Muldrow is scheduled for an arraignment on Nov. 12.
