Tigers Drop First Contest in Chelan

Playing in a tournament in Chelan, the Napavine girls basketball team couldn’t keep up with the host Chelan, 44-38 in its first game.

The Tigers were led in scoring by Natayla Marcial’s 12 points and Keira O’Neill’s 11, but came out flat in their tournament opener.

“We are still working on what type of team we need to become in order for us to beat top tier teams,” coach Shane Schutz said. “We battled down to the end but came up short tonight.”

The Tigers will look to put the loss behind them quickly when they take on a ranked Okanogan squad at noon on Wednesday.
