The Napavine girls soccer team found itself in a close match after 40 minutes, but then watched Crosspoint Academy explode in the second half en route to a 5-1 non-league win over the Tigers on Tuesday.

The Warriors led 1-0 at halftime on a sixth-minute goal by sophomore Brooke Berens, and made it 2-0 just five minutes after the break. Napavine quickly got the second goal back, with Grace Pancake scoring in the 48th minute, but then Berens went off, bagging three more goals in the next 25 minutes to put the game far out of reach.

Taylen Evander finished with five saves in 60 minutes between the pipes for the Tigers (1-1-1), and Avery Schutz had two more in the remaining 20.

Napavine will get eight days on the practice field, before opening C2BL play next Wednesday at Adna.
