Tigers Fall to T-Birds in First Tennis Match

In its first match of the season, the Centralia girls tennis team fell to Tumwater in Thurston County, 4-2. 

First singles: Olivia Norris (CEN) def. Kendall Gjurasic (TUM) 6-4, 6-4

Second singles: Zoe Guintoli (TUM) def. Brook Frakes (CEN) 6-1, 6-1

Third singles: Chloe Henderson (TUM) def. Suki Bringman (CEN) 6-1, 6-3

First doubles: Brooke Borovec and Emily Meek (TUM) def. Maya Lackie and Maddy Breckel (CEN) 6-2, 6-2



Second doubles: Sophia Wiley and Aydan Butler (CEN) def. Thy Nguyen and Julia Rupke (TUM) 6-1, 6-4

Third doubles: Sydney Sumrok and Ruby Teabo (TUM) def. Mariana Guerrero and Cleo Maass (CEN) 6-0, 6-0

“We have a very young team,” Centralia coach Scott Snyder said. “Everyone played hard, I’m very proud of the team today.” 

The Tigers will play on their home courts for the first time this season against Shelton Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
