Tigers Hang 10 on Chinooks

The Napavine baseball team brought its bats to the yard Friday and used them liberally, beating Kalama 10-0 in six innings behind three crooked numbers.

“Our kids swung the bat really well,” Napavine coach Brian Demarest said. “Hopefully we’re trending in the right direction.”

The Tigers finished their two-game series against the Chinooks having scored 31 runs in 12 innings.

The second time around, though, they got a lot more security on the mound, where Cal Bullock struck out 10 in a six-inning shutout.

Four of Napavine’s nine hits were of the extra-base variety; Austin Chapman launched a two-run home run, Conner Holmes hit a triple, and both Ashton Demarest and Beckett Landrum had doubles. Holmes, Demarest, and Landrum all logged two-hit games.

Napavine is set to take the weekend off, then go down Military Road to face off against Winlock in a doubleheader Monday.
