Tigers Snap Pirates’ Five-Game Win Streak

Napavine put the defensive clamps on Adna early and held onto a 15-point halftime lead to secure a 68-60 victory and snap the visiting Pirates’ five-game win streak in Central 2B League action Wednesday.

Senior Gavin Parker had his biggest game of the season for the Tigers, recording a team-high 17 points and game-high 12 rebounds on 7 of 10 shooting to help Napavine notch a big league victory over a hot Pirates’ squad.

Keith Olson, Cael Stanley and Jarin Prather each added 14 points, with Olson tacking on 10 boards and Stanley chipping in seven assists and five rebounds.

The Tigers were buoyed by an excellent night of shooting from the field (52%), including 47% (7 of 15) from downtown.

Adna, meanwhile, hit just 36% of their shots, including 30% (9 of 30) from 3-point land.

The Pirates were led by El Smith’s game-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists. Braeden Salme added 13 points and six rebounds.

Adna (12-5, 5-2 C2BL) hosts Morton-White Pass on Friday. Napavine (12-2, 6-1 C2BL) heads to Stevenon on Friday.
