Tigers Sweep Bobcats for Second-Straight Win

Centralia girls tennis was dominant in all six matches, sweeping visiting Aberdeen for a 6-0 victory at home on Thursday.

The highlight of the day was Tiger Norah Sas roaring back from a 4-2 deficit in No. 2 singles to win 6-4, 6-3.

In No. 1 singles, Centralia’s Evie Rooklidge took a pair of 6-1 wins to defeat Maddie Machowek. In No. 3 singles, Sophia Wiley defeated Hadley Ritter, 6-0, 6-2.

“Sophie Wiley played a very sound match to get her first win of the season,” Centralia coach Scott Snyder said.



On the doubles side, Centralia’s No. 1 duo of Liza Hopkins and Maya O’Dell defeated Lisbeth Cisneros and Charlie Guitierrez, 6-0, 6-0.

Tiger duo Maddie Corwin and Serina Stehr defeated Maritza Guzman Lopez and Macy Cogburn, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 2 doubles. 

Olivia Norris and Olivia Wiley teamed up to defeat Ellie Cady and Clowe Stolen, 6-1, 6-0, in No. 3 doubles to complete the sweep.

Centralia next hosts Tumwater at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
