Tigers Sweep Stevenson for 4th-Straight Win

Napavine softball combined for 25 runs in a doubleheader sweep of host Stevenson in Central 2B League play on Friday.

The Tigers pounced on the Bulldogs early in Game 1, plating six runs in the top of the first before tacking on three more in the sixth and four in the seventh to seal the win.

Dani Tupuola was on fire at the plate, going 3 for 4 with four RBIs and three runs. Tanner Simpson was 3 for 5 with three RBIs and two runs and Grace Gall went 2 for 3 while driving in three runs and scoring once.

While the Tigers crushed the ball offensively with 13 total hits, Napavine pitcher Cailyn Milton was knocking down Bulldogs hitters on the mound. Milton fanned 10 batters while allowing just one earned run on four hits and five walks for a complete-game victory.

In Game 2, the Tigers kept their bats hot, cracking out 10 hits and coming away with a 12-2 win in five innings.

Nine Tigers in all collected hits, led by Patricia Helsing going 2 for 3 with an RBI. Grace Pancake was 1 for 3 with two runs and Hannah Fay scored three times on 1 of 2 hitting with two walks.

Helsing went four innings on the moun, striking out five and allowing two earned runs on eight hits and two walks. Fay tossed the final inning with no hits, no walks and a strikeout.

Napavine has now won four straight and improves to 6-2 overall. The Tigers next hosts Morton-White Pass in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. on Monday.
