Titans Run Through Seagulls in Road Doubleheader

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley softball’s bats were on fire in a road doubleheader against Raymond, outscoring the Seagulls 41-0 in a sweep on Tuesday at 8th Street Park.

In Game 1, the Titans pounded out 18 hits and drove in 22 runs in a 25-0 shellacking in three innings.

Titans ace Olivia Matlock was one hit-batter away from a perfect game, striking out six batters and hitting Raymond’s Kyndal Koski for a walk across three hitless innings.

Ten total Titans collected hits, including six who registered a multi-hit game. Merissa Frasier went 3 for 3 with four runs scored and three RBIs. Reagan Portman also went 3 for 3 with two runs and three RBI. 

Ava Bush cracked a three-run homer and finished with four RBI, and Lauren Matlock drove in four runs and scored four times.

In Game 2, Matlock and Dani Shannon combined for a no-hitter to help the Titans to a 16-0 win in four innings.

Matlock earned the win on the mound, striking out one in one hitless and scoreless inning. Dani Shannon tossed three hitless and scoreless innings, striking out four.

Offensively, the Titans combined for 17 hits and had four total home runs with Bush, Frasier, Portmann and Shannon each sending shots over the fence.

Seven total batters collected hits, led by Olivia Matlock, who was 3 for 3 with two runs and two RBI. Portmann was 2 for 3 and drove in five runs. 

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley (6-2) hosts Forks in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday.
