Four local schools traveled south to Ridgefield Friday for a large-scale track and field meet. The Tenino, Toledo, Morton-White Pass, and Napavine track and field teams competed in the 26-team meet, ranging from the 2A to 1B classifications.

Competing against some of the best competition they’ll see all year, the Toledo boys’ 4x400-meter relay posted the fastest Class 2B time of the season as of May 5, with Trevin Gale, Jordan Mckenzie, John Rose, and Conner Olmstead running the 1600 meters in 3:29.95.

Olmstead also placed at the top of the meet in the 400 meters, capturing first place with a time of 51 seconds flat, with Mckenzie not far behind him in third at 51.73. Those are the third and fourth-fastest 400m times in Class 2B this year, as well.

Treyton Marty took fourth in the 1600m (4:41.35) and third in the 3200m (10:00.68) to round out Riverhawk standouts.

For the Toledo girls, Lyndzie Filla came just short of placing atop the javelin, throwing 106 feet to grab second-place.

To round things out for the meet in the field for the girls, Napavine’s Morgan Hamilton took third in the long jump, flying 15 feet, 7 inches. Keira O’Neill also placed fourth in the triple jump for the Tigers, going 32 feet, 4 inches.

Other boys’ standouts for the local schools include Napavine’s Max O’Neill, who took second in the long jump (20 feet 6 inches), third in the 100m (11.30), and fourth in the 200m (23.20). MWP’s Tony Belgiorno took fourth in the long jump (20 feet, 5 inches) and fifth in the 400m (52.59), as well.

Tenino’s Carson Schall finished fifth in the 110m hurdles, recording a personal best 16.11 time, and finished seventh in the 300m hurdles in 43.96.
