The Toledo baseball team trailed by five going into the bottom of the fifth on Wednesday, but the Riverhawks quickly flipped the script, scoring six runs in the next two innings to top Wahkiakum 8-7.

The comeback started in the fifth with back-to-back singles from Gavin Frewing and Rohan Feigenbaum, and the first run scored on an RBI groundout from Eli Weeks.

Back-to-back two-out singles from Austin Reed and Rayder Stemkoski brought home three more and got the Riverhawks (6-8, 5-7 C2BL) within one.

Two wild pitches in the same at-bat allowed the tying and go-ahead runs to score in the bottom of the sixth, allowing Toledo to get back in the win column.

Ryker Sorenson entered in relief in the second, and he allowed three hits and three runs (one earned) while walking one and striking out four in three and a third. Caiden Schultz closed the door late, striking out five of the six batters he faced to end the game.

Toledo will head to Cathlamet for the second of this two-game set on Thursday.
