Torrey, Marshall Combine for 48 Points in Blowout Win

Payton Torrey scored a game-high 25 points and Caelyn Marshall added 23 as Mossyrock demolished Columbia Adventist for a 77-36 road victory in 1B Columbia Valley League action on Tuesday.

All of the Vikings; 77 points came in the first three quarters as Mossyrock put the Kodiaks away early, outscoring them 29-6 in the first quarter and 27-11 in the second.

Torrey’s 25 points came on a scorching 10 of 12 shooting from the field, which included 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. She nearly pulled off a triple-double, adding 10 assists and eight rebounds.

Marshall was equally as potent shooting, going 11 for 13 from the field. Hailey Brooks added 12 points and Abbie Lovan chipped in six.

“They were eager to pull together,” Mossyrock coach Autumn Moorcroft said of her team. “They came out ready to go and got after it defensively.”

Mossyrock next hosts three-straight matches: Naselle on Wednesday, Oakville on Thursday and Willapa Valley on Friday.
