Three victories apiece from distance standout Chase Trodahl and mid-distance key cog Xavier Sancho-Carillo pushed the Cardinals to a total of 133 points to claim a five-team league meet on Thursday night on their home track.

Trodahl comfortably swept the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs by well over 20 seconds each and Sancho-Carillo cruised to victories in the open 400 and 800. Those two joined forces with Landen Cline and Mason Ruiz to win the 1,600-meter relay in four minutes flat.

Winlock also picked up a second victory from Cline in the triple jump, leaping 35 feet flat while Ricky Thompson secured the open 200 and the 300 hurdles.

Mossyrock’s Marshall Brockway uncorked a toss of 42 feet, 9 inches to win the shot put and heaved the javelin for a winning throw of 124-07. Its 400 relay darted around the track in 48.3 seconds for first. Oakville had one winner in Lewis Koser (discus).

Mossyrock’s girls teams clipped South Bend 138-134 for the team win. The Vikings were paced by all three relays crossing the line first and plenty of top-five finishes.

Leah Contreras, Renzy Marshall, Bailey Gross and Saydi Mendoza teamed up for the 400 and 800 relays in winning fashion. Joan Wedam claimed the 1,600 and 3,200 while also running a leg on the victorious 1,600 relay. Miley Sanders won the javelin with a toss of 103 feet for Mossyrock.

Winlock’s Victoria Sancho swept the open 100 and 200 while Cali Scofield picked up two wins in the 300 hurdles and long jump. Natalie Cardenas Hernandez (800) and Kendyl Guenther (high jump) also finished first.

Oakville’s highest finisher was Destiny Beaver, the runner-up in the 100 hurdles.
