Trojans Jump Out to Big Lead, Pick Up Win Over Terriers

The Pe Ell girls basketball team used a balanced scoring effort and a strong start to defeat Washington School for the Deaf Monday night at home, 50-11. 

The Trojans got another well-rounded night from senior Charlie Carper, who scored 16 points, stole away 10 possessions, and had six assists and five rebounds. 

Brookelynn King added 16 points and nine rebounds, and Karli Phelps had 12 points. 

“We took the throttle off after the first quarter and played a lot of kids tonight,” Trojans coach Dave Tuengel said. “After the first quarter, our focus was playing sound basketball both offensively and defensively.”

The Trojans host Mossyrock on Tuesday for another league matchup.
