Losing the lead in the final two sets didn’t deter the Pe Ell High School volleyball team, rather fuel them to a 25-19, 25-23, 25-19 triumph over Firm Foundation on Tuesday night in a Class 1B Southwest contest.

Tied in the league standings with Wahkiakum, the Trojans (7-5, 6-2 1B South) are tied in the loss column and a game back in the win column against the Mules. The two sides will meet on Thursday in Pe Ell.

“The girls went out there like they had something to prove,” Pe Ell head coach Jill Engel said. “These girls worked as a fluid team and have a lot to be proud of.”

Ruby Magruder, Brookleynn King and Karli Phelps all had double digit service runs while Madi Engel slammed down seven kills. Magruder chipped in 13 digs and King dished out nine dimes.
