Twelve unanswered runs allowed the Thunderbirds to cruise past the Bobcats 13-3 in five innings in a Class 2A Evergreen Conference contest in Aberdeen.

Down 3-1 after two complete innings, Tumwater took the lead with a four-run third that kicked off with an RBI double from Derek Thompson and was capped by a two-run double off the bat of Luke Overbay. Eddie Marson tied the game with a run-scoring single.

Eight runs in the fifth inning put the game out of reach. Two runs scored on errors while Peyton Davis and Will Bond notched RBI base hits. The Thunderbirds lit up the scoreboard in the first inning, then Aberdeen responded with three runs in the bottom half to take the lead.

Liam Karlson tossed four innings to earn the win on the mound for Tumwater with all three runs allowed unearned. Overbay finished with three RBIs as did Marson, who as well as Thompson, recorded two hits.
