Twin Transit Opts to Discontinue Mask Mandate on its Buses

Posted

Due to recent court decisions, Twin Transit will no longer require the masking of passengers who use its services, according to a new policy.

The policy refers to the Monday ruling of the U.S. District Judge Kimball Mizelle, which declared the mask mandate on public transportation was unlawful. Mizelle was appointed to the court by former president Donald Trump.

The transit authority will continue to provide masks to its passengers and operators who wish to wear them.

However, since there are appeals in place that may render this most recent decision invalid, Twin Transit may be required to amend the decision in the future, according to a Twin Transit news release.
