United Way of Lewis County Announces New Board Members

The United Way of Lewis County held it’s annual board retreat at Gerard’s Steakhouse in Chehalis Thursday night and elected new board members for the year. 

The newly elected board of directors include:

• President Dan Zandell, environment and compliance manager at Brusco Tug and Barge 

• President Elect Sandy Yanish, TransAlta

• Vice President Todd Chaput, Holiday Inn Express & Suites manager

• Past President Derek Burger, Edward Jones

• Treasurer Chris Heck, First Citizens Bank

• Campaign Chair Teresa Loo, Port Blakely Tree Farms



• Associate Campaign Chair Court Stanley, Port Blakely Tree Farms 

• Leadership Giving Chair Steve Bodnar, Centralia School District superintendent 

• Community Impact Chair Doris Wood, retired from Centralia College

Officers at Large include: Richard DeBolt, TransAlta; Rev. Alta Smith, United Methodist Church; Jeff Young, Lucky Eagle Casino; Dan Kay, Lewis County PUD; and Donna Olson, Lewis County Community Development.

The board members are chosen based on their proven leadership in their respective fields as well as within the community, according to the United Way. 

United Way of Lewis County currently provides funding for 16 partner agencies and programs.

The mission of United Way of Lewis County is to improve, consistently and measurably, the quality of life for all the people of Lewis County by raising and distributing funds, mobilizing resources and encouraging innovative solutions to the community's health and human service needs.
