Veterans Memorial Museum in Chehalis to host 11th annual Rust or Shine Car Show and Music Festival Sunday

Whether your ride is a tad on the rusty side or polished and shiny, there’s a spot for it at the 11th annual Rust or Shine Car Show and Music Festival this weekend in Chehalis.

Scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 6, Rust or Shine opens at 8 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Museum — located at 100 SW Veterans Way — and typically runs until around 2 p.m.

It is the largest known car show in the region, averaging around 400 entrants.

“Last year, we (had) 419 vehicles and we want to do our best to meet or exceed this number,” organizers said on Facebook.

Along with hundreds of cars, Rust or Shine features live music performances from local bands, local vendors and food trucks, a Chicago-style pin-up contest, raffles, hand-made trophies and more.

This year, performing artists including Pacific Northwest country musicians Chris Guenther and Kitty Mae, along with the rockabilly band The Trousers.



While the show itself is free to attend, registration for the 11th annual Rust or Shine Car Show and Music Festival is $20 per vehicle.

Sponsors for this year’s show include Gesa Credit Union, Travis Wentworth with Guild Mortgage, Pomp’s Tire Service Inc., Cedars HomeCare of Washington and NineLine Veterans Services.

Proceeds benefit both the museum and the veterans benefit navigation services and counseling offered at the museum — including NineLine Veterans Services and AMVETS.
