Vikings Race Past Comets in District Debut

Mossyrock didn’t look that rusty at all to start its 1B District 4 quarterfinal against Naselle, 11 days removed from its last game, but the Vikings sped up as the evening went on all the same, downing the Comets 78-45.

The Vikings led 31-19 at halftime after holding their guests to four second-quarter points, but hit a new level out of the break offensively, dropping 21 points in the third quarter and 26 in the fourth to put things well away.

Easton Kolb led Mossyrock with 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Three other Vikings got into double figures, with Zackary Munoz scoring 16 points, Hunter Isom adding 14, and Matt Cooper putting up 12, and Keegan Kolb came close with nine.

Mossyrock won’t have to wait around at all for its next matchup. The Vikings will head to Oakville Wednesday to take on the Acorns — champions of the 1B Coastal League — in a winner-to-State matchup.
