A walk-off run in the bottom of the ninth inning allowed the Bulldogs to complete a multi-run rally and defeat the Warriors 5-4 on Tuesday night.

Rochester (1-1) built a 4-0 lead behind a run in the top of the second, two in the fourth and one in the fifth. Montesano responded with a four-run bottom of the fifth to tie the game. It never broke for the next two frames or in the eighth.

One of two errors committed by Rochester came in the ninth that plated the game-winning run. Henry Gramelspacher notched two hits for the Warriors while Hayden Pietras roped a double as his only hit.

“Offensively we didn’t look very good,” Warriors head coach Brad Quarnstrom said. “We need to make adjustments from one at-bat to the next.”

Rochester will face another Class 1A foe on Wednesday in Tenino at home.
