W.F. West High School student Will Cummings recently completed a week as a page in the Washington state House of Representatives.

During the week of Feb. 12 through Feb. 16, Cummings served as a page for Rep. Peter Abbarno, R-Centralia, according to a news release.

Cummings completed a 40-hour work week, including attending page school, making deliveries throughout the campus and serving members on the chamber floor.

"I met Will a year ago when he was advocating in Olympia for greater investments in mental health in K-12 education," Abbarno said in a statement. "I was proud to see him return to Olympia as a page and I look forward to working with him on the policies important to his classmates.”

Eligible applicants must be at least 14 and younger than 17 and can earn up to 20 hours of community service. Pages also earn a stipend of $65 a day. Financial assistance is available to applicants to travel and stay in Olympia.
