Wolves Fall at Home to Blazers

The Black Hills Baseball team suffered its second loss thanks to late runs in as many days Wednesday, dropping a non-league contest against Timberline 5-3.

The game went into the fifth inning tied at 1-1, before the Blazers scored two runs in the fifth, another in the sixth, and again in the seventh. Black Hills kickstarted its own offense to cut the gap to 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, but couldn’t get the game tied up.

Brayden Golder took the ball to start for the Wolves and went an inning before running into trouble in the second and getting the hook. From there, Joey Floyd took over and gave BH five innings of long relief, striking out five and allowing two earned runs on three hits.

Behind the mound, though, the Wolves had a bit of a tough time with four errors.

Mark Otto smacked a triple for Black Hills, and Max Johnson and Willie Kytta also logged hits.

Black Hills will get one last non-league test before 2A EvCo play begins on the road next Wednesday, at Elma.
