Wolves Fall to Eagles

Posted

One tough inning separated Elma from the Black Hills baseball team in a big way, with the Eagles taking out the Wolves 8-4 in non-league play.

Tied at 4-4 going into the bottom of the sixth, things fell apart for the Wolves. After a strikeout to start the inning, a single got the rally started, and back-to-back errors gave Elma a lead. A walk loaded the bases, and three more free passes brought in three more runs, making 8-4 in a hurry.

Black Hills finished the day with seven errors. Of Elma’s eight runs, only one was earned.

Joey Floyd did his best to work around the miscues behind him, going five innings with the one earned run allowed on six hits and two walks.

Tanner Parkinson, Braiden Bond, and Xander Shepler all had two-hit games for the Wolves.

Black Hills will get its first dose of 2A EvCo action next Tuesday, against W.F. West.
