Coming out a bit slow, the Black Hills softball team erased a four-run deficit in a 8-5 win over Shelton on the road Wednesday afternoon.

The Wolves scored all eight of their runs in the game’s final three innings, getting timely hits to put runners across in their first league win of the season.

Zoey Theophilus, after some early trouble, pitched a complete game allowing five earned runs on four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.

Theophilus also went 2 for 3 at the plate with a pair of runs scored. Jasmine Ayala and Madi Malone also each knocked in three RBIs on separate base hits to put the Wolves ahead.

Black Hills will take a short hiatus from league play on Friday, when it takes on North Thurston on the road at 4 p.m.
