Fueled by the offensive prowess from Lydia Tobin, the Pirates snared two victories on the east side of the state, beating Granger 4-1 on Thursday and dominating Mabton 6-1 on Friday. It capped a 3-0 week for them after a 10-0 C2BL triumph over Ilwaco on Wednesday.
“Not many teams could take on three games in three nights and still have plenty in the tank,” Adna head coach Patrick Richardson said. “Conditioning has been a focus for these girls that really pays off. Everyone gave a great effort this week.”
Starting out fast was the theme in the two wins. Adna (4-4) scored first in both games and then poured it on in the second half as six of the combined 10 goals came in the final 40 minutes. Tobin ended the two contests with five goals, including a hat trick versus Mabton.
She scored the last two goals versus Granger. Sophie Hagseth scored in both games and Ava Humphrey finished with three total assists. Adna registered over 30 total shots in the two matches and allowed just eight.
The Pirates resume league play on Monday night when they travel to Toledo.
