Ignited by the quartet of Layden York, Beau Miller, Gavan Muller and Luke Mohney, the Pirates blasted the Ravens 47-7 in the C2BL West opener on Friday night at home.
Coach Aaron Cochran praised the leadership of Mohney, who had seven total offensive touches for over 100 yards and 11.5 tackles. Adna scored at least two touchdowns in the first three quarters to blow the game open.
“He’s the one taking the reins,” Cochran stated of his senior all-around athlete. “He’s developing into a really good leader.
York and Muller connected on a pair of passing touchdowns in the second period for 44 and 59-yards, respectively. York also bulldozed for two rushing scores in the first. Miller blitzed his way to paydirt twice in the third.
Miller finished with 157 yards on 14 carries. The Pirates (2-2, 1-0 C2BL West) eclipsed 480 yards of offense.
“We played really well for 46 out of 48 minutes,” Cochran said. “The boys have done a real good job taking strides, getting better every week.”
Adna will renew its annual rivalry with Napavine in Week 5.
