Bearcats blown out at Lynden

In a matchup of state semifinalists from last season who stumbled out of the gate last week, it was Lynden that came out with a vengeance, and the Lions rolled to a 48-6 route of W.F. West in Whatcom County on Friday.

The Lions scored all of their points to hit the running clock, before Gage Brumfield got the Bearcats (0-2) on the board with a 13-yard rush in the fourth quarter.

Lynden outgained W.F. West 401-187.

Tucker Land took seven carries for 31 yards to lead the way on the ground. Brumfield went 5 for 11 through the air for 64 yards, while Carson White came in and was 4 for 10 for 55 yards — with three of his completions going to Brumfield.

Grady Westlund also had three catches, and Connor Coleman had two.

W.F. West, still searching for its first win, will go to Shelton for its 2A EvCo opener next Friday.
