Quartet of wrestlers take national stage at Fargo

One of the biggest summer wrestling tournaments will feature four wrestlers, three of them on the girls side, from Lewis County.

Centralia’s state champion at 120 pounds Antonio Campos will try to add a stop sign to his collection as he is competing in the same weight class in the men’s junior freestyle bracket at Fargo Nationals taking place next week inside the FargoDome on the campus of North Dakota State.

Campos, who went perfect during the regular season in folkstyle, has already claimed a freestyle tournament, claiming the 126-pound bracket at the Thurston County Throwdown. He was second at the freestyle state championships in Pasco two months ago.

Ramona and Eva Reinitz of Centralia plus W.F. West’s Lia Hornby will also trek to Fargo and take on some of the best wrestlers in the country.

Hornby will be in the junior girls freestyle 140-pound bracket. Sixth at Mat Classic XXXV in the winter, the Bearcat graduate secured a freestyle state championship and was the runner-up at the USA Western States Championships in Idaho last month.

Ramona Reinitz will compete in the girls 16U freestyle group at 106 pounds. Eva Reinitz is in the next highest weight class at 112 pounds.

Taking second at Mat Classic, Ramona has pieced together a winning summer with a Greco-Roman state title and a win at the Thurston County Throwdown. Eva, fourth in folkstyle this winter, won a state freestyle championship.
