The W.F. West girls basketball team entered its second run through the 2A EvCo schedule and stayed unbeaten Thursday, downing Rochester 57-26 in Thurston County.
“It was good, we had a lot of girls get in, a lot of girls contributed,” WFW coach Kyle Karnofski said. “We played pretty deep tonight, which is fun.”
Julia Dalan scored 18 points to lead the way for the Bearcats (12-2, 7-0 2A EvCo), while freshman Dilyn Boeck added 13
“Dilyn had a pretty solid one,” Karnofski said. “She did some nice stuff in transition.”
Delany Winter led the Warriors (8-6, 2-5 2A EvCo) with 15 points, but the Bearcats held their hosts to six points or fewer for the first three quarters to build up a 31-point lead going into the fourth.
“What got to us was our own mistakes,” Rochester coach Keeli Rivas said. “We’d work way too hard to get a stop defensively to not execute offensively.”
W.F. West will get a tough non-league test Saturday when it plays 1A Kings in Shoreline. Rochester plays a non-league game of its own Monday, at Eatonville.
