Bearcats top Warriors to remain unbeaten

The W.F. West girls golf team came away with a convincing win on Wednesday, as the Bearcats topped Rochester 110-45.

Natalie Eklund led the Bearcats with 30 points while shooting a 39, Grace Oien scored 26 points while shooting a 43, and Abby Alexander shot a 48 for 21 points.

Madysen Alexander shot a 50 to score 19 points, and Macee Shannon rounded out the W.F. West scorers with a 55 and 14 points.

“The match went really well,” W.F. West coach Matt Klovdahl said. “We’re playing really well right now.”



Izzy Masias led the Warriors with 19 points, Audrey Williams added 10 and Mallory Gilbert scored eight. Dani Slifer and Casey Munsell combined for eight more to round out the Rochester scorecard.

The Bearcats are now a perfect 4-0 on the year, and on Thursday, they’ll welcome Aberdeen to Newaukum. Aberdeen is also undefeated, and Klovdahl said that the team is looking forward to a great matchup.

Rochester will head north on Thursday to take on Tumwater at Tumwater Valley.
