A 59-year-old Chehalis woman died in a crash on Interstate 5 in Federal Way in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 30, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Aimee E. Ott died at the scene of the crash, which occurred sometime after midnight.
Michael D. Conroy, 47, Olympia, was driving a 1997 Ford tow truck when the vehicle became disabled in the southbound lanes just north of 272nd Street.
Ott’s 2022 Toyota Corolla struck the rear of the tow truck.
The roadway was blocked for about five hours as emergency responders processed the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to the state patrol.
