Hodges and LaVoie repeat as Morton Loggers Jubilee’s Bull and Belle of the Woods

The Morton Loggers Jubilee crowned repeat winners for its overall lumberjacking competitions on Sunday.

Nate Hodges won the overall two-day men’s competition to earn the coveted Bull of the Woods title. Hodges, 40, is a professional ax thrower and Stihl Timbersports athlete out of North Fork, California.

Erin LaVoie took the Belle of the Woods title, awarded to the top overall female competitor. LaVoie, 42, is a three-time Stihl Timbersports world champion out of Spokane.

Hodges and LaVoie each won their respective titles in 2023 as well.

The Loggers Jubilee, a staple in Morton since 1937, features two days of skill competitions that include felling and bucking, log rolling and speed climbing.
