In Loving Memory of Alfred Hoffman

Posted

Alfred William Hoffman, 89, was embraced by Jesus on July 3, 2023. He was born in Seattle where he grew up and met his wife Diana (Sorensen). Later, he moved to Winlock where they raised three daughters. He retired from Longview Fibre after working as a millwright. Alfred was a man shaped by his love for Jesus, serving as a deacon at Vader Assembly of God Church, where he was instrumental in building the fellowship hall as well as living a life of generosity with a heart toward missions. His love for sports was apparent as he assisted in the groundbreaking of the Winlock High School baseball field, coached baseball and fastpitch, enjoyed fishing and attended Seahawk games with his family and friends. Other memorable moments spent with his family involved camping and traveling. Al’s delight for Southern Gospel music was known by all who loved him.

Alfred is survived by three daughters, Suzette (Robert) Lambert, Lisa (Paul) Collins and Lynnette (Tom) Hoffman, as well as three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Al and Diana also had a foster daughter, Joyce Fanning, who also had two children and three grandchildren.

Al will be put to rest at 11 a.m. July 14 at Lone Hill Cemetery, Toledo. A celebration of life service will be held following the interment at 1 p.m. at Vader Assembly of God Church with lunch being provided afterwards. Honorarium donations can be sent to Vader Assembly of God Missions.
