In loving memory of Betty McGregor: 1927-2023

Betty Jo McGregor, of Centralia, passed away on Friday, July 21, at Potter's Country Home at the age of 96. A private family remembrance is planned. 

Betty was born in Oakland, California, on May 16, 1927, to Ray and Fern Ward. She was raised in Reno, Nevada, where she graduated from high school. Betty played the violin and was a member of the school marching band. Following high school, Betty's family moved to Eugene, Oregon, and she attended Bible college where she met Donald McGregor. She married Donald on Aug. 1, 1948. 

In 1950, Betty and Donald served as pastors in Franklin, Oregon, for seven years and 11 years in Noti, Oregon. The McGregors pastored in Winston, Oregon, until moving to Centralia, Washington, where they pastored for 16 Years. Betty and Donald pastored in Turner, Oregon, before retiring in the late 1980s. 

Betty will be known for her passion for God and her desire for others to experience him in a personal way. Her family and friends will know her as loving, giving and full of fun and energy. 

Betty is survived by her sons, Darrell (Chris), of Centralia, Washington; and Rick (Diana), of Mill Creek, Washington; and a daughter, Patti McGregor, of Vancouver, Washington. Betty leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
