Carol Ramona Allender Thompson Ecklund passed away unexpectedly due to a brain aneurysm on Sept. 23, 2024. Carol was born Jan. 28, 1943, in Ryderwood, Washington, to Ralph (Barney) and Jackie (Riegger) Allender. In third grade, the family moved to Winlock where she later met and married Clifford Gene Thompson March 28, 1958. They lived in Napavine where they raised two children, Rosemarie, born in 1959, and Gene Ryan, born in 1961. After Gene passed away in 2009, she met and married Mike Ecklund in April 2010. She enjoyed camping, spending winters in Yuma, Arizona, gardening and especially the company of her grandkids and great-grandkids,
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Mike Watkins; first husband, Gene Thompson; and great-granddaughter Taylor Thompson. She is survived by her husband,
Mike Ecklund, at home in Napavine; daughter Rosemarie Watkins, Napavine; son Ryan Thompson (Nancy), Napavine; stepdaughter Tami (Randy) Haag; stepson Jim (Michelle) Ecklund; grandchildren Rachelle (Eric) Gordon, Nicole (Shamus) Gilligan, Michael Watkins, Ashley (Alan) Peters, Emily Ecklund and Jolee Ecklund; great-grandchildren Lane, Colton, Conner, Gunner, Grayson and Willow Gordon, Saydee and Jewell Gilligan, Cameron, Amelia and Brody Peters; brother, Ralphie (Mary) Allender; sisters, Linda (Phil) Brown and Sue Wickert.
Services will be held Oct. 10 at Sticklin Funeral Home, 1437 S. Gold St., Centralia, at noon.
