In Loving Memory of Charlene Lytle: 1952-2022

Charlene Ilene Dickinson Lytle was born on July 7, 1952, and passed away on Oct. 18, 2022. 

Charlene met the love of her life at an early age. John Lytle gave Charlene her first ring at 11 years old and he was 13 years old. They got married March 7, 1970. She was 17 and he was 19. They lived in the same house for 42 years. Charlene worked at St. Helens and Providence Hospitals for 22 and a half years. She was a member of the Chehalis Eagles for 24 years. Charlene loved the ocean and camping, and loved our grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. 

She passed away in Iowa City, Iowa. 

Charlene was preceded in death by her father, Joe Dickinson; mother, Celia Baker Dickinson; brothers, Oliver Dickinson, Louie Dickinson, Ed Dickinson, Floyd Dickinson, Kelly Dickinson and Shird Dickinson; and sisters, Laura Dickinson Balentine, Rosie Dickinson Abraham and Loela Dickinson Bland. 

Charlene is survived by brothers, Ted Dickinson, Fred and Bonnie Dickinson; her husband of 52 years, John; daughter Christina Lytle Raef; granddaughters, Johnnie Howell and Justus Frederick; three great-grandchildren, Jayley, Jemma and Jada; grandson, Bobby Howell and great-grandson Robby Howell; and great-granddaughter Marilyn. 

A celebration of life will be held at the Chehalis Eagles at 4 p.m. on July 8, 2023.
