In Loving Memory of Dean Hamilton: 1937-2022

 Dean E. Hamilton was born in Toledo, Washington, on July 21, 1937. He is a fraternal twin to his brother Dale. They joined a much loved sister Arlene. 

Dean started farming at age 10 and was very active in FFA. He built his first home at 17 and married Vie Jenks. They had four children: David, Laura, Lana and Jim. 

He spent eight years in the U.S. National Guard. Dean won many awards as a dairy farmer. From 1978 to 1979, he built a new milking parlor that was automated. He built a gyrocopter and loved flying it. After selling the farm, he was a long haul trucker for 10 years. Dean built his home on Fickett Road and then retired. He and Beverly were married on Nov. 9, 1996. 

Dean is preceded by his parents Jim and Florence Hamilton, sister Arlene Hamilton, brother Dale Hamilton, and daughter Laura Hamilton. 

He is survived by Vie Hamilton, David and Rita Hamilton, Lana and Connie Hamilton, Jim and Elizabeth Hamilton, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Dale and Letta Haddler, and the love of his life, Beverly Reed. 

The family wishes to thank Assured Home Health and the Onalaska Fire Department for your many trips, including the one he refused; Providence Hospital doctors and nurses; First Church of God for your continued support, we love you; John Poltz, you were always here to help with Dean; and Shelby, Page, Megan and Paisley for all the love you gave both of us. 

A service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at Alfa Prairie Cemetery. Refreshments will be served at the First Church of God after the service. Be casual. Wear blue jeans and a blue shirt. Please bring a chair.
