In loving memory of Donald and Ona Lee Stannek

Donald W. Stannek passed away peacefully on the morning of April 26, 2023. Don was born and raised with two sisters in Pe Ell, Washington, to Alois and Myrna Stannek on over 120 Acres. Don, 94 years old, was a graduate from Pe Ell High School. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1952. Don worked for Boeing for 20 years. Don met Ona Lee while she was visiting her aunt one summer in Chehalis. The two later married Aug. 21, 1954, at St. Mary's Church in Centralia. 

Ona Lee E. Stannek passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of April 19, 2024. She was 88 years old. Ona Lee was born and raised in Yankton, South Dakota, with her sister by their parents, Robert and Katherene (Khols) Whiting. She graduated from Yankton High School in 1953. Don and Onalee were married 68 years. They raised two children, a son who passed away in 1997 and a daughter who passed away in 2007. 

They are survived by two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and a never-ending love for their little dog Zoey. 

Donald and Ona Lee Stannek were well known throughout the Pe Ell and Chehalis area as a very warm, funny, loving, giving and caring couple. They are going to be dearly missed by most who knew them. A private service will be held at a later date in Federal Way, Washington, at the Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, Archdiocese of Seattle. As requested by Don and Ona Lee, they will be placed at peace with their son and daughter.
