Edward E. Jay, 85, passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Ed grew up in Chehalis, a town he loved. After graduating high school in 1956, Ed spent four years in the Air Force working on the flight crew. Ed worked at Bank Check Supply (also known as Harland and Interchecks) for 26 years and then Public Utility District (PUD) for an additional 10 years before retiring in 2001. Ed thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grand-daughters Makayla and Kaytlyn, family dinners at Kelly and Jeff’s house, gardening (garlic anyone?), hunting and playing Pitch with friends at the Market Street Pub. Ed will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Ed is survived by his daughter Kelly (Jeff) Vanasse, grand-daughters Makayla (Michael) Garner and Kaytlyn (Dylan) Reynolds, son Larry Jay, and grandchildren Garrett Jay, Caeden Garner, McKenzie Garner and Maven Garner. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Eydie Jay; son Terry Jay; brothers Gilbert Jay, Delmar Jay; and sister Dottie McCrary. Please join us for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service at Claquato Cemetery on September 14th in Chehalis followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. at Jester’s Auto Museum and Event Center, 321 Hamilton Road.
