Esther O. Seroshek passed away Sunday, May 19, at the age of 96. She was born Dec. 18, 1927, in Hazelton, North Dakota, to her parents, John and Christina (Breckel) Oster.

Esther had 10 siblings, all deceased: Edwin Oster, Albert Oster, Mary Keepers, John Oster, Jr., Emma Sundt, Alice Gamble, Peter Oster, Fred Oster, Rueben Oster and Jean Tobinski.

In Centralia, Esther left school at 14 to earn money and help the family. She worked beside her beloved Aunt Barbara in a cannery and a laundry. She married Harry Frank Seroshek, of Napavine, on June 5, 1949, and they lived the rest of their lives in Centralia, first in town, then on a farm in the Big Hanaford Valley. Harry passed away on Oct. 22, 2004, and Esther moved back into town. The couple had four children: Gary Allen, Debbie Jean, Robin Dale and Ricky Darrel, the fourth who died at only two weeks. Spouses are, respectively, Debbie (Pippin) Seroshek, John Rhea Majoros (deceased) and Joel Watson.

Esther had five grandchildren: Roger Majoros, Scott Seroshek, Lana Majoros, Brady Seroshek and Ryan Watson. She had six great-grandchildren: Sophie Seroshek, Zelda and Odessa Majoros (twins), Scout Seroshek and Lucas and Tucker Seroshek (twins).

Esther loved dancing on the weekends with her husband, Harry, often at the Eagles Club. They also bowled together for many years and enjoyed trips to Reno.

A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. June 10 at Mountain View Cemetery.

We thank Assured Hospice and Centralia Point for their diligent care of Mom.
