In loving memory of our husband, dad, papa, basketball and football coach, teacher and mentor James Wilfred Tharp.

He passed away peacefully March 15, 2024.

We have to say goodbye to a remarkable person who touched the lives of many. At 79, his legacy shines brightly through the countless lives he influenced and the lessons he imparted. JT was all about his family. He was married to his wife, Sherri, for 58 years. His four grandsons meant the world to him. His passion for sports was evident in his roles as a basketball and football coach, where he instilled not only athletic skills but also the values of teamwork, determination and work ethic.

As an educator, he inspired generations of students with his wit and kindness, shaping minds and hearts. His legacy lives on in the countless individuals he mentored, leaving behind a profound impact that transcends generations.

Though he may be gone, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Sherri (Ojala) Tharp; Kevin and Pam (Tharp) Olmstead; Horst and Erin (Tharp) Malunat; and his cherished grandsons, Carson and Conner Olmstead, and Andreas and Christian Malunat.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
