Jane Evelyn Suksdorf passed away in Centralia, Washington, on May 23, 2022. She was 84.

Jane was born on Aug. 1, 1937 in Arcata, California. After living in California and Colorado, her family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she lived until 1954. Then they traveled the Alcan highway to Washington, where Jane graduated from Randle High School in 1955. The following year, she graduated from business college in Olympia, Washington.

On May 12, 1956, Jane married Roy Pierson and together they raised five children in Rochester, Washington.

On June 24, 1982, Jane married Roland Suksdorf on the historic Ponderosa Ranch at Incline Village, Nevada, near Lake Tahoe. As their two families became one, Jane and Roland enjoyed hosting many wonderful family gatherings. Jane and Roland loved to take trips with their RV. They traveled to many places with Reno and Nashville among their favorites. Together they enjoyed raising and showing rabbits, building puzzles and watching the Seahawks play. Roland passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 10, 2021. Jane and Roland would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in June.

As a young girl, Jane was told she had a beautiful voice. She was also very skilled at playing the harmonica. In high school, Jane was spelling “B” champion, received the “Don Bell” award and became FFA queen. Jane had various jobs throughout her life. She was employed by the state of Washington for many years. She also worked for the Boeing Company and Maple Lane Correctional Facility. Jane enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with family and friends. She often said her greatest joy in life was raising her children. Jane also cherished her relationship with her childhood best friend, Linda Riddle. They always remained close throughout the years.
