Jay Allen Morris, 70, of Rochester, passed away Sept. 16, 2022, at Providence Centralia Hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1952, to Robert James (Bob) Morris and Velleda Rosalie (Babe) Finch at Bethesda Oak Hospital in Toledo, Oregon. Jay was raised in Rochester, Washington with five siblings: Pat Mercer, James (Mike) Morris, Connie flZurfluh, Kelly Apperson and William (Kode) Morris.
Jay was raised on a dairy farm, taking a huge part in the family farm. Growing up he attended Rochester schools until he met the love of his life. Jay married Beverly (Bev) Skore on Sept. 6, 1969, in Centralia, Washington. Together, they had two children, Heather and Jennifer and two grandchildren, Natalie and Jaylee.
Jay was the proud owner of the Little Red Barn Restaurant and Lounge for 40 years, retiring in 2013. It was then, Bev and Jay moved to Adna, Washington to be closer to their granddaughters in which he adored. His hobbies included camping, boating, skiing, horseback riding and socializing. Jay also enjoyed staying close to home and relaxing.
Survivors include daughters Heather Morris and Jennifer Humphrey; sons-in-law Shawn Bunch and Bryon Humphrey; granddaughters Natalie and Jaylee; great-granddaughter Tennessee Bunch; sisters flConnie Zurfluh and Kelly Apperson; and brother William (Kode) Morris; as well as many nieces and nephews, and many other loved ones.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Sticklin Funeral Chapel. There will be a celebration of life in his honor at 4 p.m. on Oct. 8, 2022, at the Chehalis Eagles.
