Jeffrey Alan Pickett was born on Dec. 12, 1969, in Riverton, Wyoming, to Larry and Marie Pickett. The family moved to Centralia when Jeff was a toddler, where he lived until his passing on May 22, 2024.
As a teenager, Jeff enjoyed camping and boating and excelled at water skiing. As the only son, he learned alongside his dad at an early age how to work with his hands on anything with an engine and that nothing should be thrown out because there was always something of value that could be done with it.
He loved restoring cars, making beautiful things out of scrap wood and barbecuing with family and friends. In the early 2000s, Jeff was a sales manager at Thurman’s where he received multiple awards for Salesperson of the Year. When the store dissolved, Jeff took the opportunity to follow his dreams of owning his own business. In his 40s, he bought an antique business at Yard Birds, PICKETT’S NEW 2 U, and traveled the countryside, asking to look through old barns where he discovered many amazing finds that he cleaned up and sold in his store.
In 2021, he formed a remodeling business, PAINTERS PLUS. He ran that business with the help of his son, Levi. Among Jeff’s greatest accomplishments was attaining his GED as an adult after leaving high school in his junior year. He found his greatest pride in the accomplishments of his children, to include the recent arrival of his first granddaughter.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Larry Pickett; and brothers-in-law, Bill Thomas and Kevin Sieler. He is survived by his children, Levi Pickett (Brandy), Megan Pickett (Lone) and Rayden Teitzel; long-time partner, Michelle Teitzel Betts; mother, Marie Wagner; stepmother, Virginia Pickett; siblings, Carrie Sieler Hoium (Lee), Theresa Thomas and Angela Goode-Taylor (Jeff); six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and extended family members.
