In loving memory of Joseph Robert Kus II: 1971-2024

Joseph R. Kus (Bob) was born May 1, 1971, at St. Helens Hospital in Chehalis, Washington, to Joseph R. Kus and Jeri L. (Smetlzer) Kus. He died on May 20, 2024, at 12:08 pm at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

Bob was a person who loved to do service for others. He was part of the Royal Rangers at the First Assembly Church in Centralia for five years. He was an 18-year volunteer of the Rochester-Grand Mound Fire Department. He loved driving the old General in parades.

Bob was a graduate of Rochester High School and New Market Skill Center. After school, he worked for 23 years at Rainier Nissan-Mazda and Uhlmann Ford and RV. His hobbies were collecting diecast cars and going to car shows, sprint cars and drag races. He loved LEGO and model trains, and also enjoyed going fishing, riding his quad and ATV up in the woods with his club members, and cutting firewood with his grandfather.

Bob is survived by his parents; brother, Jon; sister, Jennifer; aunts, Judy Lavender and Jolene (Tony) Medina; and numerous cousins. He has many friends.

We will miss you and your smile and never forget you.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, June 7, at Swede Hall, 18543 Albany St. SW, Rochester.
