Posted

On May 4, 2024, Gail Magnuson — wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend — passed away peacefully at the age of 82 at Sharon Care Nursing Home in Centralia, Washington. We wish to thank the team at Sharon Care, with Memory Care having a special spot.

Gail was born June 3, 1941, in Raleigh, North Dakota, to Frances and Carla LeDuc. After graduating from Centralia High School, she married the love of her life, David Magnuson, on Dec. 5, 1958. Together, they had three children: son Brian and two daughters, Deborah and Lisa. Gail worked for Maple Lane School until 1978, when she, along with her sister Margie, started Chehalis Deli, “Home of the Bearcat.”

When Gail wasn’t spending time with her family, she loved traveling, playing golf, spending time in her garden or playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Magnuson; son-in-law Rex Slemp; and granddaughter Christina Magnuson.

She is survived by her son, Brian Magnuson, of Vader, (Susan Scott of Hawaii); daughters, Debbie Slemp of Aberdeen and Lisa (David) Gehrman of Centralia; siblings, Chuck LeDuc and Margie (Bill) Vonash; three sisters-in-law, Billie LeDuc, Edith LeDuc and Dorothy LeDuc; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A private ceremony will be held at Sharon Care Nursing Home, with our family and the staff there. Donations can be made to Sharon Care in Gail Magnuson’s name.
