Kevin James Holt passed away unexpectedly Feb. 29, 2024, at Kootenai Health Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, after a brief illness. He was 74. His son, Andrew, was by his side.

Kevin was born on Oct. 6, 1949, to Jim and Vonda (Swigert) Holt in Morton, Washington. He grew up in Mossyrock, attending grade school and high school there. As a youngster, he cherished spending time with his Grandpa and Grandma Swigert, who lived on their farm nearby. As a teenager, he enjoyed acting in school plays, playing football and water skiing.  After high school, he attended Western Washington University and Central Washington University, majoring in theater arts. He also attended Washington State University, majoring in construction management.

During high school, Kevin met Becky Shields. They were married in 1970 and had a son, Andrew. Kevin and Becky continued a close relationship throughout their adult lives. A fond memory for Kevin was a trip he and Andrew took driving across the United States visiting many historical sites along the way. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Sierra and Quinn.

Kevin began his career working on construction projects during high school with a job at Mossyrock Dam. Throughout his adult life, he worked as a quality control and assurance supervisor on many large projects around the United States.

He is survived by his son, Andrew Holt, of Hayden, Idaho; two grandchildren, Sierra Holt, of Moscow, Idaho, and Quinn Holt; his sister, Karen Tilden, of Spokane Valley; his nephew, Kyle (KC) England, and niece, Tonya (Darrell) Hill, and their families.

A celebration of life for Kevin will be held at 1 p.m. June 22 at the Mossyrock Grange.  Refreshments will be served. Please bring your memories of Kevin to share.
