In Loving Memory of Lisa Grunenfelder: 1945-2022

Longtime Adna, Washington, resident Lisa Jane Grunenfelder passed away peacefully on Aug. 6, 2022. 

Lisa was born Dec. 21, 1945, and attended schools in Oakville, Washington. She graduated in 1964 and attended Centralia Community College, Central Washington University and Saint Martin’s University, where she obtained her teaching certificate and master’s degree in education. After college she became a fourth grade school teacher at Oakview Elementary School in Centralia where she worked for 30 years, making lasting impressions on the many students she taught. 

Lisa married Dan Ghere in 1965 and gave birth to their son Sean Ghere in 1971. 

Following a divorce, Lisa married Don Grunenfelder in 1984. They have been happily married for 38 years. 

Lisa enjoyed reading, spending time at the lake and spoiling her dog, Zoey. Lisa had a way of brightening everyone’s day with her smile and calling the people she cared about “sweetie.” 

Lisa is survived by her husband, Don Grunenfelder; son, Sean (Stacey) Ghere; stepchildren, Tracy (Laurie) Grunenfelder, Tim Grunenfelder and Tanya Topasna; sister, Ann Lonborg, of Oakville; brother, Paul Wollen, of Oakville; brother, Dennis (June) Wollen, of Oakville; brother Gary Wollen, of Elma; and numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces. 

A graveside service is being held at Oakville Pioneer Cemetery on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at the Oakville Community Center, 111 East Oak St., Oakville, Washington.
